BUZZ Bass VI, czyli ani gitara ani bas 😉 Strojony niby jak gitara elektryczna, ale oktawę niżej – najgrubsza struna ma rozmiar 0.090, a menzura niecałe 28”.
Moim zdaniem, do tej gitary trzeba podejść jak do kompletnie nowego instrumentu – absolutnie nie jest to zamiennik basu, bo ma wąski rozstaw strun i brzmienie najgrubszych strun jest zbyt gitarowe.
Myślę, że na naszych próbkach słychać w jakim kierunku można się poruszać:

Co do specyfikacji, mamy tu blokowane klucze, siodełko wykonane z kości i klonowy gryf w bursztynowym nitro z palisandrową podstrunnicą, a korpus to olcha w zielonym nitro; wykończenie to drobny, mieniący się brokat w połysku.
Na pokładzie pikapy z absolutnie najwyższej półki – P90 w obudowach JM od Lindy Fralin. Mamy tu też mostek od Mustanga i Buzz stop bar ze sprawnie i całkiem stabilnie działającym strunociągiem vibrato.
Elektronika to klasyczny układ typu JM – dolny jest jaśniejszy, a górny ciemniejszy z wyłącznie gryfowym przetwornikiem.

It’s neither a guitr nor a bass – it’s a BUZZ Bass VI 😉 Tuned kinda like a guitar but a whole octave lower; the size of the thickest string is 0.090, and the scale lenght is almost 28″.
I think this guitar should be approached like a whole new instrument – it absolutely ain’t no replacement for a bass, as the string spacing is too narrow and the lowest strings still sound too guitar-y.

Specs-wise, we have locking tuners, a bone nut and a maple neck in amber nitro with rosewood fretboard, and the body is alder in green nitro; the finish is a grainy green sparkle in hi-gloss.
Onboard, there are top-of-the-line pickups: JM-shaped P90s from Lindy Fralin. The guitar also has a Mustang bridge and a Buzz StopBar with a nicely working and quite stable vibrato tailpiece.
The electronics are a classic Jazzmaster-style circuitry – the lower one is brighter and the upper one is darker, with only the neck pickup.
