An absolute classic in a traditional color scheme. A must-have in the collection of every self-respecting bassist!

An alder body, a maple neck with a “manly” profile that encourages you to slow down and play deliberate, thoughtful notes. The sound is quite different from a classic Precision Bass because this one has a single-coil pickup—more open, rigid, and punchy.

The headstock is fitted with large, heavy Gotoh GB-640 tuners and a bone nut. The pickup is a Japanese Alnico model, and the bridge is a vintage-style Gotoh. The only modernization is that each string has its own saddle, and the strings are not run through the body. I’m not a fan of that kind of “break angle” on the E string. In my experience, it makes the string less stable and muddier, and actually reduces sustain, contrary to popular belief.

The electronics are simple: volume and tone controls using CTS pots, Gavitt wiring, a Pure Tone jack socket, and full shielding throughout. The instrument, of course, comes with brand-new strings and has been set up to perfection!
