Buzz Yellowjacket in Pastel Pink Relic — a guitar from our own workshop, built in a classic SSS layout, with quality hardware, proper electronics and our own approach to finish, tone and playability.
The body is made of alder, with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The neck has a C profile, 7.25” radius and medium jumbo frets, giving it a classic, more vintage feel without making the guitar uncomfortable or difficult to play. This is not a modern flat-board shred machine — it is aimed more at players who like traditional feel, dynamics and a direct connection with the instrument.
The finish is nitrocellulose lacquer, which is something we take very seriously at Restauracja Gitar. It is one of our specialities and one of the things that clearly separates these instruments from typical mass-produced guitars covered in thick, plastic-like finish. Nitro is not only about the oldschool look and the way it naturally ages over time — it also affects the feel and response of the instrument. A thinner, harder finish lets the guitar resonate more freely, making it feel more alive, open and dynamic under the hand.
The Pastel Pink Relic finish is not trying to be a polite, cute catalogue guitar. The wear marks, aged details and slightly worn hardware give it the look of an instrument that has already seen some action, while still being solid, stable and ready for everyday playing.
The pickups are Fender Pure Vintage ’63. The sound is clear, dynamic and classic: glassy top end, good snap, strong note separation and a very nice response to picking dynamics. The in-between positions have that familiar “quack”, while the individual pickups stay clear and musical without sounding thin or lifeless.
The bridge is a Fender unit with steel saddles and a large heavy block. Tuners are locking Gotoh, which makes string changes easier and helps with tuning stability. The passive electronics are built with good components: CTS pots, Centralab switch, Gavitt wire and a Pure Tone jack.
This is not just another pink guitar from a catalogue. It has character. It looks like an instrument with stories behind it, but technically it is fresh, reliable and ready to play. Perfect for someone who wants a classic SSS-style sound, but does not want a sterile, boring guitar with no personality.
