Gitara dla konserwatysty i tradycjonalisty – stary, świetnie wykonany LP bez żadnych udziwnień ani ulepszeń.
Jak powszechnie wiadomo, w Japonii w latach 80. produkowano znakomite instrumenty, w przeciwieństwie do pogarszającej się jakości amerykańskich gitar. To wiosło jest tego doskonałym przykładem. Minęło ponad 40 lat, a gitara wciąż trzyma się znakomicie i, poza typowymi bolączkami starych instrumentów, nie ma się do czego przyczepić.
Korpus wykonano z nato (odmiana japońskiego mahoniu), z klonowym topem i szyjką, a podstrunnica jest palisandrowa. Na główce znajdują się solidne klucze oraz siodełko z kości. Podstrunnica, na której zamontowano nowe progi, zdobiona jest markerami w kształcie koron oraz bindingiem. Korpus z charakterystycznym wypukłym topem również wykończono bindingiem i polakierowano w tradycyjnym kolorze cherry burst. Na pokładzie dwa klasyczne humbuckery o raczej vintage’owym brzmieniu – nie są to pickupy hi-gain. Elektronika pasywna: 2x tone, 2x volume oraz selektor przetworników. Mostek i strunociąg są ciężkie i solidne, w odróżnieniu od tych w nowych gitarach.
Jak na swoje lata, Yamaha jest bardzo zadbana i nosi ślady użytkowania porównywalne do kilkuletniego instrumentu. Technicznie – jak to u nas – wszystko tip-top.

A guitar for conservatives and traditionalists – an old, superbly crafted LP without any gimmicks or enhancements.
As is widely known, Japan in the 1980s produced exceptional instruments, in contrast to the declining quality of American guitars. This axe is a perfect example of that. Over 40 years have passed, and the guitar still holds up remarkably well, with no issues beyond the typical ailments of vintage instruments.
The body is made of nato (a variety of Japanese mahogany), with a maple top and neck, and a rosewood fretboard. The headstock features solid tuners and a bone nut. The fretboard, fitted with freshly installed frets, is adorned with crown-shaped inlays and binding. The body, with its characteristic arched top, is also finished with binding and coated in a traditional cherry burst lacquer. Onboard are two classic humbuckers with a rather vintage tone – not high-gain pickups. Passive electronics include 2x tone, 2x volume, and a pickup selector. The bridge and tailpiece are heavy and solid, unlike those found on newer guitars.
For its age, this Yamaha is in excellent condition, showing signs of use comparable to a guitar just a few years old. Technically – as always with us – everything is in top-notch shape.
